A surahi is a bottle used to hold and pour water or wine. Traditionally they were made with terracotta and later out of metal inlayed with jewels for Mughal emperors. The form of my surahi is inspired by Mughal architecture. The lid of the surahi resembles the domed minarets on Mughal built structures and the carvings around the surahi are inspired by the paintings on the walls and the arches of palaces from the same style of architecture.
