Traveling from the place where I work to the place where I live takes about four hours. During this time, either by train or car, I watch the water, hills and fields along the periphery; the horizon always far ahead in the distance. This has become a very familiar nomadic route – the signs, highway markings, curves, straight-aways and overall geography traversed. Passing by rivers and rocks, mountains and fields my focus is always on the horizon. Regardless of the time of day or night my fixed view draws my attention always forward. If walking I would cast my eyes downward but while driving I look ahead ever mindful of the future.
